All boils begin at 6 pm.

We are social distancing and have put many safety precautions in place for our guests and employees. We request that you bring your own table settings -- plates, napkins, flatware, cups -- in order to minimize direct contact between our employees and guests, and so that we are not contributing plastic to the environment. ~ Thank you.
Gather 'round the fire for a Great Lakes tradition, brought to this area by Scandinavian immigrants more than 100 years ago. Whitefish from the cold water of these great lakes was plentiful and made a great meal outdoors when boiled with potatoes, onions and seasonings in a large kettle. We continue this tradition and add to the meal homemade cole slaw, garlic toast, herb-seasoned butter, and cherry pie and ice cream.
The highlight of the boiling process is the "boil over;" a pint of kerosene is thrown onto the fire, sending flames skyward. This flash of heat causes the water in the kettle to boil over the sides, taking with it oil drawn out of the fish which accumulates on the surface, leaving a healthy meal for our guests.
We invite you to join us, sip our lemonade, or bring your own beverage of choice, and enjoy a tradition with taste!
We offer private fish boils for groups of at least 30 adults. They are popular for family reunions, corporate events, rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, and church groups. Please call the market for more information.
